BrightWork 365 Product Roadmap

BrightWork 365 Near Term Product Roadmap

We realize it is helpful for our Customers to have access to the near term BrightWork 365 Product Roadmap to learn the planned direction of the solution, including the types of capability the Product Development team is intending to add. Below are our current near-term planned priorities, taken from our backlog and informed by conversations with customers. Important notice - as you would expect, this is open to change based on feedback from our Customers.

Grid

We will continue to add new capabilities to the Grid that was shipped in our 2026-1 release. Current candidates include: Quick Mark Task Complete; Copy and Paste in multiple Tasks; Apply Conditional Formatting to Tasks (e.g., Late Tasks in Red); Configure Fields on Display in the Grid (e.g., Reorder, Show, Hide, etc.); Enter and Update a Task Description; Enter and Update a Task Type (i.e., Task or Stage); Enable Task Column Filtering; Task Single Column Sorting; and more!

Projects Tracker

We will add a new Template for customers who wish to start projects with a very simple tracker solution (e.g., intent/objective, status, etc.), so that the essentials of projects are visible to senior executives, who can then decide which projects to worry about and not to worry about. Customers  who have this level of project tracking in place for all projects, will be in a position to determine which projects and teams are ready for more project management. While this will be useful for Senior Executives, it will also be a very easy onramp for Project Managers.

Template Switcher

A key philosophy of BrightWork is Start | Evolve, i.e., start with an amount of project and portfolio management that gives Senior Executives enough visibility to control and that is easy for Project Managers to deliver, and then mature / add more project management as needed. To this end BrightWork 365 has a number of Templates included in the core solution (e.g., Project Light, Project Standard, Project Structured, New Product Introduction, etc.) that can be configured and customized by our Customers as needed. This "Template Switcher" capability is intended to allow Project Managers to start with one Template and switch to a different Template as the needs of the project dictate.

Project Settings

In order to support user interface improvements, the Project Settings tab for Project Managers and PMO Managers is getting merged with the Project Settings form within Schedule Settings. Schedule Settings will also receive several updates including a rename and reordering of the forms to better suit customer usage and access.

Retire V1 Request and Project Templates

We will retire the older V1 Request and Project Templates (and therefore disable the associated functionality, e.g., the ability to select these Templates to create new Requests and Projects from these older Templates). We do not believe there are customers using these V1 Templates, but if some of our Customers are using these older Templates, they can upgrade to the current (newer) Templates before they upgrade to the 2026-2 release (due this summer).

Project and Portfolio Dashboard Reporting

User Access and Activity Report, to give visibility into who is accessing BrightWork 365 and when and who is not, and also to give visibility into what project management processes / tables (e.g., Risk, Issues, Tasks, Costs, etc.) are being read and / or updated, so that our Customers can use this information to improve / evolve Project and Portfolio Management practices.

The option to restrict Power BI reports to the owning Business Unit of the user, so that dashboard reporting is more secure and tied down.

Deliver a Power BI Snapshot Report over the out of the box historical values of key data points from the Project Status Reports (e.g., Health, Time, Cost, etc.) – with the option for our Customers to include their own added indicators.

Selected improvements made to the existing Power BI Reports, so that the reports are more useful to our teams to help them exercise visibility and control, e.g. Add the Project Reference column to Power BI Reports; Selecting an item on a slicer then filters all the tabs to have the same slicer choices; Bring the user to the Power BI Dashboard report for that project; Add some of the Dashboard Reports #2 and #9 to the Main Navigation under Portfolios.

A “Project Archive Project” capability, to remove projects from the current reports.

Deliver samples and Knowledge Base articles to explain how to:

  • Subscribe to Power BI Reports, to enable automation of emailed Power BI reports (e.g., PDF or Power BI screenshots).
  • Setup a PowerPoint Project Status Deck with the slides linked to live Power BI reports.

Notifications

Use the Power Platform (i.e., Power Automate) capabilities available to our Customers to send the Notifications. Allow for event driven (e.g., New Task Assigned, etc.) and schedule driven (e.g., Weekly Report of Overdue Tasks, etc.) Notifications. Allow customers to turn “on or off” these new Notifications. Make it easy to customize email Notifications (e.g., abstract some key elements from each notification (e.g., Tasks Overdue, Task Assigned, etc.) into a “Template” / “Form” and do not have them all hard coded into the Power Automate flow). In time, as well as delivering new Notifications, convert the existing notifications in the product to this new approach. Add Knowledgebase articles so our Customers can see how easy it is to add (upgrade friendly) Custom Notifications with Power Automate – and an article on how to add Notifications with Copilot assistance (for our customers that have access).

Selected Improvements

Continue to add improvements to existing capabilities, including additions to:

Lots More!

We have many other very cool capabilities on our Roadmap, in addition to the ones listed above. If you are an existing Customer and do not see your own #1, #2 or #3 item on the above list, please send a note to support365@brightwork.com with your feedback. We want to hear from you.
